Forbes Malaysia’s 40 Richest 2011

Last week Forbes had released their latest edition of Malaysia’s 40 Richest. Robert Kuok and Ananda Krishnan stay still at top two spots with the net worth of US$12.5 billion and US$9.5 billion respectively. Overall Malaysia’s economy grew 7.2% last year, which recorded as the highest rate since 2000. The fortunes of the country’s 40 richest have kept rising too, which worth a collective US$62.1 billion, US$11.1 billion more than previous year.

Post 2010 FIFA World Cup

It’s been eight days after the 2010 FIFA World Cup and finally FIFA have announced the Dream Team for the tournament on last Thursday, 15th JUL 2010. Overall the Spanish squad dominated the South Africa 2010 Best-XI, which voted by FIFA.com club members from 736 participating players throughout the tournament.

IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2010

Swiss-based Institute for Management Development (IMD) has recently compiled the latest version of World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY). Singapore (1st) and Hong Kong (2nd) topped USA (3rd) in WCY 2010, this is the first time in decades. Also for the first time since participated in this study in 1999, Malaysia has been ranked the world’s 10th most competitive nation among 58 economies. The WCY is the world’s most renowned and comprehensive annual report on the competitiveness of nations, ranking and analysing how a nation’s environment creates and sustains the competitiveness of enterprises.

Press Freedom Index 2009

Reporters Without Borders recently had issued its eighth annual world Press Freedom Index which reflects press freedom violations that took place between 1st SEPT 2008 and 31st AUG 2009. Reporters Without Borders compiles the index every year on the basis of questionnaires that are completed by hundreds of journalists and media experts around the world.

Forbes Global 2000

Forbes had compiled a latest Global 2000 list last week. The Forbes Global 2000 are the biggest, most powerful listed companies in the world. It’s a comprehensive report analyzes the world’s biggest companies and the best performing of these titans over the past year. This year’s ranking of world leading companies span 62 countries, with the US (515 members) and Japan (210 members) still dominating the list, but with a combined 33 fewer entries. 2010 Forbes World’s Billionaires

Forbes had published the annual list of World’s Billionaires for the year of 2010 on 10th MAR. Mexican tycoon, Carlos Slim Helu has beaten out Americans Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to become the wealthiest person on earth and become the first non-American to nab the top spot in the 16 years of history for the Forbes list of the World’s Billionaires.

Forbes World’s Most Powerful Billionaires

Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York City, tops Forbes list of “World’s Most Powerful Billionaires”. Meanwhile media and banking titan Silvio Berlusconi, also prime minister of Italy, ranks second on the list. Billionaire industrial heir, Saad Hariri, who was appointed prime minister of Lebanon last JUN ranks fifth. Rounding out the top five are Mexican telecom titan Carlos Slim and Russian oil magnate Vagit Alekperov. Hong Kong and East Asia wealthiest man, Li Ka-Shing ranks eight in the list.

Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands 2009

According to a valuation study conducted by Interbrand, Public Bank emerge as Malaysia’s most valuable brand for year 2009, with a value of RM6.593 billion. Public Bank overtook last year champion Maybank, which fell to second spot this year with value of RM5.374 billion, to grab top spot in the third anuual ranking of Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB), a league table that values the Top-30 consumer-facing Malaysian brands. In third place is CIMB, valued at RM5.245 billion.

Google Top Searches Of 2009 In Malaysia
