The Darkest Hour

Another sci-fi action horror film which depicts an alien invasion in Russia is going to celebrate this year’s Christmas with you, The Darkest Hour. While most films about alien invasions are centered in the USA or have an international scale, this upcoming thriller tells an alien invasion from the Russian’s perspective and focuses on what happens after the aliens have dominated the planet. This American-based production is directed by Chris Gorak and stars Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Rachael Taylor, Joel Kinnaman and Max Minghella. The film is set to release on 25th DEC 2011 worldwide in conventional 2D, 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

The apes are going to dominate the cinemas this year! Oscar-winning visual effects team, Weta Digital that brought to life the worlds of “Avatar” and “Lord of the Rings” is breaking new ground to bring you Rise of the Planet of the Apes, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate. The film is not based on any specific plotline from the original series, but instead takes elements from the earlier movies to create an origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. Directed by Rupert Wyatt and starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and Andy Serkis. It’s slated for release on 5th AUG 2011.

X-Men: First Class

20th Century Fox is going to bring the legendary X-Men back in this year with its latest installment titled – X-Men: First Class. Following the classic Marvel mythology, X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. This forth episode of the X-Men movie series is a prequel to the first three films which is set during the 1960s by focus on the relationship between Professor X and Magneto and the origin of their groups, the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants. Directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, Rose Byrne and Kevin Bacon, X-Men: First Class is scheduled for release in theatres on 3rd JUN 2011.
