The launch of this co-brand card is part of Maybank’s strategy to work with leading brands to continuously offer distinct value to customers. The bank is aiming for 300,000 card members in three years. Maybank currently has an 18% share of the local credit card market, with a value of RM1.5million. The bank also aiming to be in the top-5 position in the credit card business in the Asean region (excluding Malaysia) by 2015 from the eight spot currently. The Maybankard Manchester United would be a platform for it to expand its regional reach and it would soon introduce a similar card in Singapore.

The co-branded card offers an array of multiple TreatsPoints. Every new Maybankard Manchester United cardholder stands a chance to win two all-expenses paid hospitality match tickets to watch the Red Devils play against Liverpool at Old Trafford, including seven days and four nights accommodation and flight tickets. Apple iPhone 4S will be available in both black and white colour for pre-order start from this Friday, 7th OCT 2011 with launch scheduled for next Friday, 14th OCT 2011. Prices set at US$199 for 16GB model, US$299 for 32GB, and US$399 for 64GB. The release will take place over 70 countries on over 100 carriers across the world.

Defending Serie A champions AC Milan‘s latest home kit consists of a thinner traditional red and black stripes with crew neck and white cuffs to invoke memories of the classic AC Milan kits of the 1950s and 1960s. The back of the upper neck area of the shirt features a strip of miniature Italian flags below classic-feeling cursive text reading “Associazione Calcio Milan”, the full name of the legendary AC Milan. Meanwhile, the new Rossoneri away kit sees a predominantly white shirt with the collar is red in colour while the Adidas stripes on the sleeves are red and black in colour. It also contains the Italian flag below the collar. Whereas the new third strip is black in colour.
Last season’s runners-up Inter Milan‘s new home shirt consists of the team’s renowned blue and black vertical stripes, but with a thinner stripes compared with previous kits. The new Nerazzurri away jersey is inspired by the historic Inter jersey worn during the victorious 1964/65 season, which was a season full of memorable wins including the national championship, the first Champions Cup and the first Intercontinental Cup of the team’s glorious history. The body of the jersey is predominantly white in colour with a black and blue diagonal band sashes across the shirt, together with black fabric collar.
The new Juventus home jersey retains the club’s iconic black and white stripes with Nike have opted for a jagged black line design this time to guarantee a 3D effect. The Bianconeri new away jersey is bright pink in colour with the presence of a huge star like design weaving from the neck down to the waist on the shirt, which is the most striking feature in this year’s edition.
Roma home strip continues to be in the club’s traditional red and yellow colours. Giallorossi new away shirt is white in colour, while the new third strip is black in colour.

Last season’s La Liga champions Barcelona will wear a new home strip having a sponsor for the first time in the club’s history, which will be Qatar Foundation. The classic vertical stripes have been stylized to thinner, while the logo of UNICEF has now gone to the back of the shirt. There are a total of eleven stripes on the shirt, with blue shorts with yellow trim completing the 2011/12 home kit. There is also a new red round collar design and solid blue sleeves. Meanwhile, Barca have taken a big step away from the vivid colours they normally use for their away kit and will be wearing an all black new away kit on their travels next season.
Another Spanish giant, also last season’s La Liga runners-up, Real Madrid‘s new home kit has a distinguishing feature with the presence of Adidas’ remarkable triple stripes in gold colour on the shoulders. Player names and numbers on the new home strip will also be golden in colour. The badge has an innovative 3-D design, to reduce the weight of the strip. This home kit reverts back to the classic polo collar with the initials of the club on the reverse side. The Galacticos’ new away kit is all black in colour with more of a bronze trim in comparison to the gold on the home one. Real Madrid are going to seek to wrest the La Liga title away from arch rivals Barcelona, who will also be wearing a black away kit this season.
Last season’s La Liga third place, Valencia‘s new home kit for 2011/12 has changed to be manufactured by Spanish based Joma. The strip is traditional white in colour with flashes of black at the bottom of the shirt, on the end of the sleeves and a combination of some yellow flashes the collar.

Last year, BookFest @ Malaysia had attracted a steady increase since it first commenced in 2006 which recorded an astounding 600,000 visitors. This year, there will be 614 exhibition booths and more than 150 participating exhibitors of publishing houses, books and stationery distributors from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Singapore and of course Malaysia are expected to participate in BookFest @ Malaysia 2011. During the fair, there will be more than a million titles in English, Malay and Chinese as well as new book releases, stage performances and book signings by both local or international renowned authors.

Arsenal‘s new home strip for the 2011/12 BPL season has been inspired by their strips of the 1970′s, and celebrates Arsenal’s 125th anniversary. The new home shirt is a simple one with block red body and white sleeves. The word Arsenal is written on the back of the shirt, while the words “Victoria Concordia Crescit” (Victory Through Harmony) is present inside the front, on the back of the crest. The Gunners’ new away shirt is divided into halves of blue – one turquoise blue in colour and other navy blue in colour. The back of the shirt is entirely navy blue in colouring, with a stripe runs down each sleeve. This blue style takes the same colour scheme as the club’s mid-90s away kit. The diagonal line represents the pointer which casts the shadow on a sundial – to commemorate the original Dial Square sundial on the site of the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, where the club was founded as Dial Square FC in 1886.

The new Chelsea home strip is a throwback to the club’s kits from the early 1980s with the shadow striped design on the front while the white shoulder pad has been added to make Adidas’ iconic stripes stand out. Meanwhile the Blues’ new away strip is black in colour with turquoise blue squares in a netted pattern.

Liverpool‘s new away strip is dark grey in colour with the sponsor’s title, Adidas’s logo, club badge and the iconic Adidas stripes silver in colour. You may check out my previous post back in April which contains more details of this kit at HERE. The Reds also launch a new third kit for the new term which takes inspiration from the strip worn by LFC in 1892 ( their first ever home kit). The new third strip is mainly white in colour, with cyan blue and black stripes going one side down from shoulder to the collar. The three stripes on the shoulder representing Adidas and the ends of the sleeves are both blue in colour. The Reds have no brand new home kit for this season as their last season’s home kit is for a period of two years until 2012.

Last season’s BPL champions Manchester United also release their new home strip for the new season. The main difference in the new home top has come in the collar, which is now a white crew necked creation with a central black stripe. Meanwhile the new Red Devils away top is royal blue in colour with navy blue and black stripes.

Other tourism bodies from Thailand, Indoenisa, Taiwan, New Zealand or Australia are going to have their own large booths promoting individual places of interest from respective countries. Even for Malaysia, the individual state tourism bodies will be participating here. Some of the regulars would be Sabah Tourism, Sarawak Tourism Board, Langkawi Tourism apart from the main Tourism Malaysia gigantic booth.

As the fair attracts all walks of life, even the hoteliers have taken up booths at the fair to promote their chain of hotels here. Some well known hotels like Holiday Villa, Equatorial and even boutique and high end hotels are seen selling packages to their establishments. One of the popular resorts – Club Med, will be having the special “Club Med Matta Fair Promotions” as they do yearly.

In this latest edition of MATTA Fair, Hall 1 and 2 will have booths promoting international travel and tours, while Hall 3 will feature travel packages from domestic and other ASEAN countries. To set apart from the normal tours, a section of the travel fair will be catering for honeymoon travel wedding packages. A special “Bridal Exhibition and Honeymoon Packages Fair” will be held at the main Hall 1 in PWTC with the theme titled “Enrich your life, Go Travel”. Only reputable bridal companies will be selected for this MATTA Bridal Fair. In addition, travel gadgets such as luggage, travel insurance or winter clothing can be found from booths located at the Tun Dr Ismail hall.
