Forbes Global 2000
Forbes had compiled a latest Global 2000 list last week. The Forbes Global 2000 are the biggest, most powerful listed companies in the world. It’s a comprehensive report analyzes the world’s biggest companies and the best performing of these titans over the past year. This year’s ranking of world leading companies span 62 countries, with the US (515 members) and Japan (210 members) still dominating the list, but with a combined 33 fewer entries. Total 18 companies from Malaysia are ranked in this year’s Forbes Global 2000 list, which including:

CIMB ranked at 493, compared to last year ranking of 705, is the highest among the Malaysia companies. Compared to 2009 list, Malaysia companies’ number had decreased from 19 to 18. Maxis is the new comer whereas Telekom Malaysia and KL Kepong that were listed in the list of 2009 were droped off from the list this year.
The ranking of Forbes Global 2000 use an equal weighting of sales, profits, assets and market value to rank companies according to size. In total these latest Global 2000 companies now account for US$30 trillion in revenues, US$1.4 trillion in profits, US$124 trillion in assets and US$31 trillion in market value. All metrics are down from last year, except for market value, which rose 61%. The following are the top-25 in this year’s list:
