2009/10 UEFA Champions League (MD9-III)

Inter Milan need only a draw at Moscow in order to march into the semi-finals for the first time since season 2002/03 when they travel to challenge CSKA Moscow in tonight’s 2009/10 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals second leg. However, they also need to beware of the freezing weather and the artificial turf at CSKA’s stadium. Although CSKA recorded 7 wins 1 draw 1 lose in last 9 European home games, they could only earned 1 win 1 draw 2 loses in last 4 encounters with Italian sides at home. Meanwhile Inter lost once only in last 15 encounters with Russian teams and they had won all the last 4 UCL matches. The odd from Asian handicap is Inter let 0/0.5 goal. I think the Russian side will fight with full force at home tonight and won’t let the Italian side get through easily, although I prefer to see Inter enter into next round. May be at least a draw would be the final result. CSKA Moscow is my pick!

On the other side in Spain, Arsenal will fly to Nou Camp for challenge the defending champion – Barcelona in which the Spanish giant also need only a draw tonight for reserve the ticket of this season’s semi-finals. The Gunners could only have 1 win 2 draws 5 loses in last 8 UCL games with only 6 goals scored, in which included 4 games with zero goal scored. Furthermore, they lost 6 times in last 11 visits to Spain with only 9 goals scored. The only positive record is they recorded 2 wins 2 draws 1 lose in last 5 encounters. Meanwhile, Barca lost twice only in last 29 encounters with English sides at home and they had 5 cleansheets at home in UCL this term. The only setback is they are winless in recent 5 encounters with English teams. Barca are leading Arsenal with 2 wins 2 draws in head-to-head records. Asian handicap give the odd of Barca let 1.5 goal, which I think it’s a bit high . Consider that there’s a national derby clash with Real Madrid waiting for Barca on this weekend’s La Liga champion decider match, I think the Spanish side won’t go all out tonight. Arsenal will be my choice but still I have faith on Barca. I think 0-0 or 1-1 will be the final result tonight at Nou Camp, and Barca will be sent into the semi-finals.
