Beware! The serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers, Freddy Krueger will return to haunt your dreams this year in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a contemporary re-imagining of the 1984 horror classic. It’s set to slash its way into theatres on 30th APR 2010.

The famous trademark horrible disfigured killer with red-and-green striped sweater is starred by Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley, alongside with an ensemble of young actors play as the teens terrorized by Freddy Krueger. Directed by Samuel Bayer, a veteran music video director will make his feature debut with this remake.

The new films tone will be more in line with the original and more terrifying than the campy silliness that came into play in later sequels back then. The plot is focuses on a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize a group of suburban teenagers in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another, but when they sleep, there is no escape.
