The annual Martell VSOP Rising Personalities Awards event is back for the third year running to regconize up-and-coming individuals who have risen above the competition and possess the potential to reach greater heights. The event nominates 10 rising stars from various fields, but only one will be voted the winner of the coveted Martell VSOP Rising Personality Award. Last year, professional violinist and lecturer, Joanne Yeoh won the title, this year a new group of people have come forward and are ready to take the throne.

The chosen personalities include dancer Cecilia Yong, singer-actress Chelsia Ng, artist Chong Chin Yew, T-shirt designer Chow Hon Lam, comedian/actor Douglas Lim, DJ Nick Chia/DJ Gururu, DJ Nychole Leong/DJ Nikki, jewellery designer Tan Sze Yoong, fashion designer Teresa Thian, and TV host Will Quah. These 10 personalities were selected based on their career achievements, potential for greater success, and a certain level of recognition within their own field and beyond.

The winner of the Award, which will be announced in NOV 2009, will be determined via public voting and a panel of judges comprising of well-known Malaysians who have already made their distinct mark in their respective fields. Public voting is open from 8th OCT 2009 until 5th NOV 2009. For details on all 10 nominees and to vote for them, just go to the Martell Rise Above website and register to vote. Each registration allows up to 10 votes a day. One lucky voter will stand a chance to walk away with a party worth RM10,000 from Martell VSOP, to be enjoyed with friends.

The personality who garners the highest number of votes, in addition to the award recognition, will receive a cash prize of RM20,000, an all-expense-paid trip to Cognac, France, to visit the Martell facilities, and 10 bottles of Martell VSOP.
